PS 410: Money & Politics Winter 2024Money & Politics was an upper-level political science course that explored the relationship between financial resources and the American political landscape. This course covered topics such as campaign contributions, lobbying, interest groups, and the impact of money on public policy and direct democracy. Students analyzed landmark Supreme Court decisions, examined the distribution and direction of political funds, and critically assessed the influence of money on democratic processes. By the end of the course, students were equipped to evaluate the complex interplay between money and politics, and its implications for representation, equality, and the overall health of American democracy.Syllabus PS 495: American Political Economy Summer 2024American Political Economy offered students an in-depth exploration of the connection between economic systems and political processes in the United States. This asynchronous course covered issues such as wealth distribution, lobbying, and the impact of financial interests on policy-making. Students engaged with a diverse range of scholarly works, from classic texts to contemporary research, examining how economic factors shape political outcomes and vice versa.
