I am an Assistant Professor of American Politics at DePaul University in Chicago. I earned my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oregon, where my dissertation examined how out-of-state contributions shape direct democracy campaigns across the United States. My research brings together campaign finance, direct democracy, and state politics, with particular attention to who funds and organizes ballot measure campaigns and how that shapes policy outcomes.
My current projects center around the professionalized actors that shape the direct democracy process, as well as political attitudes surrounding the energy transition and climate change.
I also have a professional interest in energy policy, particularly nuclear energy and the state policy decisions that shape its future. In the classroom, I teach courses on American politics, social science research methodologies, and climate change policymaking.
